Ryan joined the Shepherds of Good Hope Foundation Board in 2014 and now currently serves as the Chair. Ryan is originally from Cornwall, Ontario, and prior to joining Vincent Dagenais Gibson, operated a successful physiotherapy business throughout Eastern Ontario. Ryan’s area of expertise is Corporate Law, including not-for-profit corporations and registered charities, Real Estate Wills and Estate Planning
Melissa Shabinsky is a passionate volunteer who is dedicated to improving the quality of life for many in the Ottawa community. She is the co-founder of Fairy Godmother of Ottawa, an organization that provides prom dresses to teens in need. She is on the leadership committee for the Bust a Move initiative in support of The Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation in addition to her annual involvement in fundraising for the St. Joe’s Women’s Centre and volunteers for the Look Good Feel Better program.
Melissa is excited to take on the role of Vice-Chair, for the Foundation. Professionally, Melissa is a beauty entrepreneur, having launched 2 award-winning cosmetic brands worldwide. On the personal side, she is a wife and mother to four amazing kids.
John has been on the Board of Directors of Shepherds of Good Hope since 1993. Currently, John sits on both the Boards of the Shepherds of Good Hope (Vice-Chair) and as Chair, Human Resources Committee. By day, John is a Senior Legal Counsel of Export Development Canada. In February 2007, John received the Gordon F. Henderson Award from the County of Carleton Law Association (CCLA) for his work with Shepherds of Good Hope.
Adam’s first interactions with the Shepherds of Good Hope community came when he lived around the corner during his undergraduate years at the University of Ottawa. In 2005, Adam was invited to join the Shepherds of Good Hope Board of Directors, where he served as Chair of the Development Committee prior to the formation of the Shepherds Foundation and continues to contribute to the Foundation Board.
Brynn continues her role of Treasurer, Shepherds of Good Hope Foundation. Having lived her whole life in Ottawa, Brynn had only been exposed to Shepherds of Good Hope in passing. Since joining, she has learned that Shepherds of Good Hope does so much more than she knew about and has been further encouraged that her decision to become a board member was a good one. Brynn obtained her CPA, CMA designation in 2012 and works full-time as a Revenue Analyst for Halogen Software Inc. She attended Carleton University obtaining a Bachelor of Mathematics in 2004. Away from the office Brynn loves spending time with her husband and two amazing children.
Tom is an accomplished senior financial services professional operating two lines of business: a mortgage agent with Mortgage Brokers Ottawa and a senior foreign exchange consultant with Knightsbridge Foreign Exchange. Shepherds of Good Hope Foundation welcomed Tom as a new Board member in September 2016.
Tom is very active in the community as a member of the Kiwanis Club, and as founder and President of a local whisky club, the Ottawa Whisky Guild. Since arriving in Ottawa 10+ years ago, he has served on the board of the Ottawa Jazz Festival, the Ottawa Gymnastics Club, the Sierra Club Foundation and the Canadian Society of Association Executives.
Tom and his wife Helen live in the west end of the city and have three sons Derek, Daniel and Jonathan. On downtime, he loves kayaking, gardening, photography, home renovations, and of course, whisky tasting.
Mark is the founder and leader of Roundell Wealth Management. With more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry and designations spanning across investment management, financial planning and insurance services. Mark is an expert at navigating clients through a broad range of financial matters.
Shepherds of Good Hope Foundation welcomed Mark as a new Board member in September 2016. He is looking forward to working on behalf of the foundation board to raise funds and awareness for the vital work that the SGH does in our community. Mark also sits on the finance committee of St. Patrick’s Home of Ottawa Foundation. Mark recently completed a term on the board of the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health and remains on their Strategy and Governance Committee.
For the past 27 years, Mark has lived in Ottawa with his wife Deborah. They have two independent, adult children and two grandchildren.
Angèle is an experienced strategic advisor and logistics expert in special projects for the federal government and the private and public sectors. She is a very strong leader in special events at the national and international level. Angèle has worked extensively with federal Ministers of the Crown, government departments and large scale meetings such as international summits and conferences, world exhibitions, Winter Olympics, Media, and various Health Associations and Foundations. She has provided strategic advice to CEO’s, Prime Ministers, Ministers of the Crown and Senior Executive Directors. Angèle has successfully organized fundraising events in the health and sports fields. As a Fundraising Consultant Angèle provided advice and support in developing operational plans. One of her main goals is to meet defined fundraising targets, objectives and aspirations. Having been positioned as Press Attaché, Acting Chief of Staff, Project Manager, Director of Protocol and Fundraising Advisor has allowed her to see beyond the existing situation and offer relevant advice on logistics, partnerships and communications while being able to work within the current culture of the organization.
Angèle is a Senior Advisor at Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada, HR Client Services.
